jpg won't open in Photoshop because of program error

I converted heic files taken with my Samsung S10 to jpg using an online converter. Photoshop 2020 won't open them because of a program error. Other jpg files open without issue.

Adding to this because I've solved my problem, but I had to go through Lightroom to do it. Photoshop should open these files without having to go through Lightroom, imo.

 

Import the images into Lightroom. It shows as "heic+jpg" once imported. Right click and edit in Photoshop 2020. Save, return to Lightroom, export as needed.

I received a private message from Adobe_ Nigel_Adams directing me to email Adobecare@outlook.com to deal with this. Is this normal? They asked for my email and password, which was suddenly sketchy. Looking closer and he's only been a member since yesterday. I'll continue to wait for replies in the thread.
