jpgs turning to black boxes

i can see my saved jpgs fine in photoshop and as icons in my folder, just fine ... but then when i open the jpgs in photoshop after a few seconds the boxes turns to black ... it's happened a few times on other computers but not on mine ... wondering what is up ... any suggestions?    (on a pc)

Sounds like you're saving a CMYK file as a JPEG. Open the file, choose Image > Mode > RGB... and save as a JPEG for other applications to render the JPEG correctly.

Can you post a screenshot, including your layers panel - basically the whole interface with the problem.

melissa ... i had a new larger hard drive installed a week ago ... and checked the scratch disk (i have over 300 gb ... vs the 20 i had before, so it shouldn't be issue)
