Keyboard shortcut for Select All layers not working

CMD-A just puts a slection around the image

Cntrl-CMD-A does nothing

OPT-CMD-A does nothing

 

What am I missing

The default keyboard shortcut is the one in bold green above.

 

Double-check the keyboard assignment under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts (Application Menus, Select, Select All layers).

Whatever shortcut it says on the menu next to the command, is the shortcut. See the picture below. If you change it in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts, what it says next to the menu command will change to match, so that you can always look on the menu to see what the shortcut is.

 

There are some cases where nothing happens when you press the shortcut listed on the menu. If that happens, check for any third-party software running on your Mac in case one of them uses a system-wide shortcut that conflicts with Photoshop. For example, if I am running a certain screen capture app I have, its Command-Shift-1 shortcut will override that shortcut in any other application including Photoshop.
