Keyboard Shortcut Malfunction with Photoshop Update on Wacom

Hi all,

I’m reaching out to share and seek a solution for an issue I’ve been facing since the latest Adobe Photoshop and Beta updates. Post-update, I’ve found that none of the keyboard shortcuts are functional when using my Wacom 22 HD tablet. This is particularly evident with the lasso tool, which doesn’t respond correctly to shortcut commands for adding to or subtracting from selections. This problem extends to all shape selection tools in Photoshop, as well as the paint brush.

Usually, with the Wacom pen, I could adjust brush size, hardness, or softness using the ‘scrubby’ shortcut involving a Control and Option click. However, this is no longer the case. The only workaround seems to be using an external mouse, which defeats the purpose of the tablet’s pen-centric design.

I’ve attempted troubleshooting by reinstalling both the Wacom drivers and Photoshop, but the issue persists. It seems that the update has neglected proper Wacom support, leaving the pen tool non-responsive on Mac systems.

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated as it’s quite disruptive to the usual workflow.

Mine is ok now, I worked in photoshop all day and never had an issue after reinstalling the drivers for Wacom. I'm working in iOS 14

Hi everyone, I am running Mac OS 12. The OS doesn't matter. I found this issue to be a Wacom driver issue. I have uninstalled the latest driver and reinstalled it several times. Same issue that the Wacom does not function correctly. Shortcuts functions will not work. Where the user need to use a external mouse to make the shortcuts work. So, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator functions correctly. It's the Wacom Driver.

So update, I uninstalled the drivers and everything to do with Wacom, had to do a manual search to find EVERYTHING, then I reinstalled the drivers, took about 2hrs. But it's seemingly fixed now, I say seemingly because after doing all of that yesterday I was in no mood to create 😂

Does the tablet do app specific functions like below?  If so and you are using them, then has Wacom properties lost focus after updates (because the file path will have changed).

I've just had a quick look and couldn't see how to edit that file path, which might mean deleting the Photoshop setting and adding it again selecting the correct version.  You can see that I have three instances of Photoshop, but I am on Windows so can only have one open, but I do have the beta version installed.

There are known issues with Ventura and Sonoma, but I don't know if there are any related to tablets.

What OS version are you using?
