Keyboard shortcuts in PS CC 2018

From everything I can see in forums and chat rooms, the keyboard shortcut issues with PS CC 2018 are known and Mother Adobe is "working on the issue."  Also, I write a lot of my own shortcuts and few of them survive the same day they are written, so please add that to the list of woes. Any idea when the fix will be in? Fractured work flow due to the broken shortcut sequence is a source of frustration to those of us who use the program to make a living. All that said, I do realize that this program is huge and complex so occasional hiccups are to be expected. But puh-leeze do the fixes.

Thanks,

Joe

I'm getting the issue of the loss of focus - a shortcut press meant for the tool menu instead activates in the program menu.

The tool menu was floating when I was getting these issues... I docked it then the majority of issues went away.

How is this issue "answered" in any way, shape or form? I thought Microsoft support was awful but Adobe is utterly disgraceful. Keyboard shortcuts are broken in PS 2018/Win10 and we are all paying for buggy software that doesn't work with no timeline on when it will be fixed. It seems like the only workaround for me is going to be installing an old desktop version of Photoshop Elements just to finish a project and make a deadline.

I understand, but you can also install and run the less buggier but earlier versions of Photoshop starting with CC (v 14). It's also a good idea for those who have older systems. From the CC Desktop app, do this:

Then select an earlier version. You can keep and use your latest Photoshop.

Thank you for your reply. I upgraded from an old version of Photoshop

Elements (which did everything I needed it to do) and Win 7 to Win 10 and

Photoshop cc and have been incredibly frustrated with trying to figure out

which features are broken (like keyboard shortcuts) versus my ignorance of

the more complicated UI. Bugs like this in released software just infuriate

me.

I see this has been marked as answered, but I don't see anything giving an answer that works for me. Keyboard shortcuts have been unusable since updating to PS 2018, and my tool bar has ALWAYS been docked! Undocking and redocking the toolbar didn't help either. PS is almost unusable due to the frustrations caused by this bug. Is there an answer? Thanks.

I have the same issue with keyboard Shortcuts not working in PS CC 2018 using Windows 10. My programmed shortcut, for say, alt-control-shift-E, will work from the Wacom tablet but not if I do it directly on the keyboard. But it will work if I do an extra "alt" to the short cut ...same as switching to background color -requires a double alt to get going. I use Photoshop as a serious hobbyist but I dont know how anyone puts up with all these issues...all the time..to make a living!

Having keyboard shortcut issues as well with Windows 10. For some reason when I'm using the pen tool and I hit the step backward or forward shortcut it doesn't initially work. I have to keep hitting it or wait a minute for adobe to reset. It also happens when I do any sort of zooming in and out. When I zoom back out and hit the step backward shortcut it occurs again. Also the same thing happens with the fill command. Its incredibly frustrating to learn a workflow for years only for it to be broken or changed with a new release. ADOBE STOP CHANGING THE GRANULAR WORKFLOW OF PHOTOSHOP...  Also let's add this to the list of the insane amount of bugs that plague Adobe software. Its completely expected of them to release something without extensive testing on all operating systems and versions. "Lets just let the customers find the bugs for us" seems to be their process these days.

Agile development is all the rage with developers right now. It's a "release and see" mentality with the aim of allowing the market to guide developers whilst ensuring early revenue, but I agree that the model has no fit in a professional work environment that relies on stability to make profit.

Hi I am having the same keyboard shortcuts issues in Premiere Pro 2017. I map them in but they are not working at all. Has this bug been fixed or am I stuck working with the standard (very annoying) keyboard???
