Keyboard shortcuts not working PS 23.3.2

I have just updated to OS 12.3.1 and from PS 2019 to 2022 (23.3.2). I know find that my keyboard shortcuts no longer work and PS isn't accepting any changes I try to make. No warnings that that key is already assigned, it just won't accept them.

I used the 'q' key to invoke the Healing Brush tool for example. When I try to change 'J' to 'q' the window changes as per the two screen shots.

How can I get this to work?

Many thanks!

Lots of keyboard shortcuts have also stopped working for me since the update - I have a swiss german keyboard layout.

example of shortcuts that don't work:

- ctrl+alt+I for image size

- save

- tools

- export

etc

example of shortcuts that do work:

- alt + click to duplicate

When I change to a UK keyboard they work again. But I need to be able to use my swiss german layout.

Just a thought: can you tell us what happens if you remove the shortcut for Quick Mask "Q" before you try to assign it to Healing Brush?

Trevor, your link to the Help page is a good one!

No luck with either of the two suggested actions above. New preferrences didn't change anything. I'm still on an Intel iMac so the M1 chip doesn't come into it. None of the other Known Issues are applicable/changed anything.

Removing the Quick Mask 'Q' before trying to asign that key to the healing brush also did nothing.

I'm not in my office now, but will test later if another volunteer doesn't do so first. I'm on an Intel Mac.

Hi Phil

There's something about shortcuts on the Help pages

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-stop-photoshop-mac.html

There are various issues around the M1 chip with Photoshop

And various known issues here

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/known-issues.html

I am afraid I am a Windows user, but if you flick through those pages I am sure someone with Mac experise will be along shortly.

Good luck
