Latest Photoshop CC update messing with graphics tab

Firstly, my graphics tab would randomly select the scrolling bars and move my page on me (wouldn't paint at all). I figured it was my graphics tab dying on me and saw it as an excuse to treat myself to a new one so got the new Wacum Intuos Comic tab. Turns out it's photoshop screwing up, not my tabs. Neither of my tabs are now painting unless i press the right click button on the pen and if i'm not pressing any buttons then the pen scrolls and moves the canvas about instead of drawing. I've tried to change the pens properties etc. but this is happening with BOTH graphics tabs so am I wrong in believing it's Photoshops problem? This wouldn't be a major problem except even when pressing the button on the pen, Photoshop still doesn't recognise the strokes 90% of the time.

This is seriously frustrating as I have commissions to finish. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

It's a pity you hadn't searched here first - before buying a new tablet.

The latest Microsoft Windows update (KB4093112)  has caused an issue with tablets and Photoshop.

You can either - undo the update

or

Do the following  :

1. Use notepad to create a text file and type in :

UseSystemStylus 0

2. Save the file as PSUserConfig.txt in the following location
C: > Users > Username > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 > Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 Settings

3. Go to the  tablet properties and uncheck "Use Windows Ink"

4. Restart Photoshop

That is it - all should now work well (you need to do all the above steps to retain pen pressure)

or

There is a third option if the above does not work on your tablet. Microsoft made this change intentionally and they have issued a way round it with registry change (see link below). However for  Photoshop and most tablets the PSUserConfig method works.

Thank you so much Dave, the third solution worked!
