Latest technique for recovering corrupted psd?

I have worked all - literally all day, and saved like a good girl. In the middle of the last save, if did not complete before Photoshop crashed. I can see the file, I can see the little image.... but I cannot open. Not a recognized psd document. What's the latest? Can anyone help? All day. I worked on that ALL DAY. The file weighs in at about 270 mb.

Thanks -

Agreed, it's a really bad idea to keep saving over the same single PSD version. Always save versions - preferably use an automatic method to do this for you.

As for restoring (some) of your work, try opening the corrupted PSD in PhotoLine - I have had some luck with that and corrupted PSD files. Free fully functional trial at www.pl32.com.

May not work, though. But it can't hurt to test it.

The most reliable way to save is to change the file name with each one. For example: filename1.psd, filename2.psd, etc. Consider that in the future.

Also, if you are using a Mac I can't emphasize too strongly the value of Time Machine. It backs up work hourly automatically and is easy to use.

You may also want to Google File Recovery Software to help solve the immediate problem.
