Latest update on 2020 pooched masks and blending options...prior version fine...2019 fine

When a layer mask is created it doesn't work. For instance if you use a bw
gradient in the mask nothing in the lower layer appears. Blending options
are not functioning. Example, duplicate a layer run the hi pass filter and
then blend with soft light mode you get nothing but the hi pass grey layer.
It doesn't blend. The prior version of 2020 was fine until this update.
2019 is fine. I simply went back to 2019 until this gets resolved. Hope
this makes sense.
