Layer displaying twice after moving / transforming

I am running up-to-date version of Photoshop.
When I move or transform a layer, the layer shows in its original position AND its new position - so 2 layers show, as if you have duplicated the layer. See attached screenshot.
But look in the layers panel - the layer is not duplicated. The original layer display only disappeares when you move the layer again, eg if I nudge the layer it appears to fix the problem, although actually it's still displaying 2 layers, just 2 layer right next to each other, so the duplication isn't abvious.
This seems to be a display / processing issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks photoshop community!
