> layer mask " reveal all " : doesn't apply a mask any more

since your latest update v25.3.1.

Keyboard Shortcuts_assign for Layer >> Layer Mask >> Reveal All > layer Mask.

doesn't work, meaning now, when i have a selection on the image:  it only ad a blank mask,  without applying a mask when i have a selection...

but if I use does two option(as shown on the attached file) when I have a selection,  both option work as it should be: add a mask and apply the mask.....

So why with the keyboard shortcut, it doesn't do that anymore with 25.3.1 ?

thanks.....

Layer mask - Reveal all - means add a mask that is empty and does not hide anything. That way it can be painted on, with black,  to hide areas of the layer. This has not changed.

Assigning a shortcut to layer mask - reveal (or hide) selection, is not an extra step. It will add a mask that reveals (or hides) the selected area. Again, this is not new and has not changed.

thanks for the reply...

strange because for so many years It did work like the other option.... ex: As you know when we click on the mask icon in the layer panel, it as a masque and fill the mask base on the selection on the image... all in one step... So that for this reason the shortcut was pretty useful.

Now if I do as you suggested it will take me two step to do what it did in one step, like the other option in PS... I know I can create a action.. but ....

If I may, base on your info, that will be great to have-had the option to create a shortcut that does all that in one step.... had a mask and apply the mask...

So may be all the previous version of PS I had, had a bug that make it work like that, so please put back that bugs:) (jocke).... or it's my lack of sleep that make me imagine things... :):)

Question: why do they call it " reveal All ", ? because in reality, we always say "ad a mask", and to reveal is normally to show something hidden or a secret... etc.

Layer > Layer Mask >Reveal All should do just that - add a mask which is all white.

If you want the selection revealed by the mask add a shortcut for Layer >Layer Mask >Reveal Selection
