Saved a psd & closed photoshop so that I could update my computer...when I open the file again, it has been flattened!!???  Trying not to hyperventilate. What happened, and how can I undo it?

You may also want to check to make sure that on the Save As dialogue box that even though you are saving the document as a psd that the layers didn't accidentally get toggled off. This used to happen to my students all the time and they would have flattened versions of their work.

do you have a time machine that you can go back to a previous version an hour ago?

Did you happen to restart before Photoshop had finished saving? Not 100% certain, but doing so may result in only the flattened preview being saved

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I may have...Ps does take a long

time to close.. I am new to the creative cloud community--is there

somewhere version sets are stored, like the Organizer in Ps Elements?

Previous versions can be found/downloaded in the Creative Cloud app. These will be full versions, though (e.g. CC 2015, CC 2017). When you uninstall and reinstall a program, you’ll start over with the initial release, and updates can be downloaded and installed at your choosing.
