Layer palette not showing with full screen mode with menu bar

Hi,

I am using Photoshop with the latest version updated : V 24.4.1

Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.4.1 20230418.r.449 53a6c60 x64

Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit

On my main screen, I have the Tool palette on the left side and my Layers and Property palettes on the right side. All my other palettes are on another screen.

When I work on an image, I always go from "standars screen mode" to "full screen mode with menu bar".

Normally, it makes my image full screen but I still have access to the menu bar AND my Tool, Layers and Properties palettes on each side of my screen.

Since I updated to the new photoshop version, when I go to "full screen mode with menu bar", I can see the menu bar, but my Tool, Layers and Properties palettes disapear...

I tried quiting Photoshop and restarting it, but it still has the bug.

I tried restarting my whole computer, but it still does the bug.

If I use one of the preset workspace, I is OK, I go to "full screen mode with menu bar" and all the palettes that are in my main screen stays visible.

I tried resetting my workspace and replace my layer and properties palettes on my main screen, but then the Tool palette that I did not move stayed visible on my main screen in "full screen mode with menu bar", but the Layers and Property palettes disapear.

When I tried to move also the Tool palette, it started to disapear too.

Actually, whatever palette I move manually on my main screen disapear when I go to "full screen mode with menu bar".

Is there something you can do about that?

Thank you!!!

Hi @marielout77410838

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Restore your preferences using this manual method:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Hi Cory,

thanks for your quick reply. I did the manual method and it worked well. I put back my preferences folder and I got all my brushes, actions, librairies, shotcuts and menus back. And I was able to go in "full screen mode with menu bar" with all my palettes still showing. And I will be able to work correctly!

The only thing a bit ennoying is that, even after putting my old settings folder back, I had to go through all my Photoshop Preferences (in the "Edit" menu) and redo all my settings (General, Interface, Workspace, Performance, File Handling, etc.). Sometime I don't remember what I chose because I don't go there all the time. So I may afterward make some screen captures of my settings in case it goes off again with another update...

But except for that, it all good! Thank you.

Hi,

I wanted to add an edit to my old post.  I downloaded the latest update, version 25.5.0 and unfortunately I got the sticky hand tool problem back wich I had to restore my Photoshop to default and put all my settings back (Positionning my workplace again, my shortcuts and general settings.)

After doing that, the sticky hand tool was ok, but then I discovered that the "dissapearing layer palette" bug was also back! So guess what? I resetted all my preferences manually a second time... I don't even bother to save my workspace anymore because I suspect I will have to reset it anyway next time I update Photoshop.

Is it possible to flag this to Adobe? Wondering there are more with this problem?

I will write back next update to tell you if it does the same bug. 😉

Thanks...
