Line missing when using the lasso tool

When drawing out a selection using the lasso tool, the line is missing in Photoshop CC version 20.0.

When I close the selection the marching ants appear.  I need to see the line as I use the tool.  Help.

    I did reset the tool a couple of different times.  I kept using the tool and the line comes and goes randomly.  I am using a brand new I Mac Pro less than a week old if that means anything.
