Liquify changes disappear when leaving liquify window

Hi all, I have recently aquired Photoshop 2021 after previously working with CC 2019 version.

I am using on a HP Notebook and had no problems doing liquify on the old version, however now when I complete the liquify tasks they show changes until I leave the liquify screen and return to the image where they do not show at all.

If I open the liquify window again where I previously completed the liquify changes it has been replaced by a chequerboard area (as indicating clear layer) ?

Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong or if I have a check box set incorrectly please?

I have attached a couple of screenshots to try and illustrate.

Hi

I noticed that OpenCL is disabled in the preferences, this could be due to an outdated GPU driver, your GPU driver date is 2015/08/06

Try updating the driver from here

https://www.amd.com/en/support

The GPU you have was released in 2014 and the most recent version of Photoshop has issues with older GPU's, if none of this helps you may need to revert to an older version of Photoshop

Ged is fater than I was, yes, there must be a newer GPU driver!

Hi

Do you have the same issue if you convert the layer to a smart object

You could try resetting your Photoshop preferences, you should backup any custom settings you have beforehand

Hi Ged, i have tried converting to smart object and then liquifying but no difference.

I have checked my preferences and they match those you have sent throuhg on your screenshot.

Tried using various different images but same on all.

Uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop, no change.

Really puzzled as all other functionsd appear to work fine.

Hi

I meant for you to reset your preferences, click on the "Reset Preferences On Quit" button and restart Photoshop
