Liquify Filter Crash on Mac

Hello,

I recently purchased Photoshop CC 2015.5 and it was working very well until I tried to use the Liquify filter. It will let me open the filter and use it for about 30 seconds, then it will shut down the whole application. I have restarted my computer and tried various things that people said might work. The liquify filter has crashed while I was using it ten times in a row and it is starting to get very frustrating. I have used the same version of photoshop on a Microsoft computer and it worked perfectly. Please let me know if there is anyway to fix this problem or a way around it.

That's a bit strange CC 2015.5 was released in 2016, did you subscribe to the Creative Cloud, if so have you tried updating to a more recent version

I have subscribed to the Creative Cloud and I just checked the updates and it said the photoshop was up to date. The photoshop I purchased was the student discounted package. Do you know if that is why I have the older version?
