Liquify not working again: AIF internal exception and GPU Acceleration

Here we are again with the same bug:
When I try to use Liquify, it says "AIF internal exception" unless I untick the GPU acceleration. The problem is that without this acceleration I cannot use the new functions in Liquify (like face-awareness).

Do not flag as closed this thread after replies like "Update your drivers" or stuff like this, or "Disable GPU", because that's not a FIX, just some patch to use the basic functions.

Since I use PS for work, I already tried to do the basic stuff, that's why I need help.

If anyone has suggestion on how to fix this, it would be very appreciated.

No worries, I see that you have an onboard Intel GPU and a Nvidia GPU, Photoshop doesn't work well with dual GPU set-ups

Take a look at sections 7 & 8 of the link I posted above.

I noticed you also have 2 monitors are both monitors plugged into the Nvidia card, if not they should be

a. Updating GPU drivers is not a just a workaround . GPU drivers are updated frequently for the gaming world and unfortunately do frequently introduce bugs. That is why checking the manufacturer site for a recent driver (or sometimes trying an older GPU driver) can resolve the issue.

b. Try resetting preferences. The preference file in Photoshop contains more than just the user preferences. It is written every time Photoshop closes and, if there is a crash, can become corrupt leading to various errors and behaviours.

c. If still no joy, go to Help>System info - click copy and paste the info here. It may give us a clue as to why you are having such issues on your particular system

I've been reading some of your replies in other threads relating to this issue but I can't find anywhere that you have provided your system specs, like OS version and GPU

Do you have a both a dedicated and onboard GPU's

Have you tried updating your drivers to the latest version.

Correct answer

No worries, I see that you have an onboard Intel GPU and a Nvidia GPU, Photoshop doesn't work well with dual GPU set-ups

Take a look at sections 7 & 8 of the link I posted above.

I noticed you also have 2 monitors are both monitors plugged into the Nvidia card, if not they should be
