Liquify screen black after I updated PS :(

I update my photoshop two days ago. Everything seems to have transferred over, all of my actions and brushes and such. However, when I try to liquify, the liquify screen is BLACK. I've tried checking and unchecking the show background box and fiddled with those settings, restarting ps and restarting my computer and it's still only black. I can guess at what I'm clicking on and the liquify works, I just can't see what I'm doing when I'm doing it. HELP!

    Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

    Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?
