Lost 2-up vertical in a single window

Up until just now, I've been able to use Window > Arrange > 2-up vertical as a way to display two images side by side in a single window. Now I can only get it to do it in two separate windows. The deal-breaker is that in this mode, the current window changes size whenever I zoom in or out, overlapping or obscuring the other window, whereas before when it was two side by side images in a single window zooming didn't change the window size. No idea what I'm doing differently, it just seemed to work before. Thought it might have something to do with viewing in tabs first or using fullscreen mode but doesn't make any difference. Any attempt to Window > Arrange jumps out of full-screen mode and/or tab mode and does two separate windows.

Completely shatters my workflow.

Go to Window menu and make sure Application Frame is selected (it may have been turned off). Now try to arrange your window with 2-up vertical. Does that work?

Application Frame! Doh! Got it confused with Full Frame Mode. That did the trick, it got turned off somehow. Thanks!

Hi there,

That does not sound like a typical experience, let's make it right.

Please provide some screenshots as it would be helpful for us to troubleshoot further.

Also, try the steps mentioned by above.

You may also try resetting the preferences of Photoshop and see how it goes: Preferences in Photoshop

Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes and actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings

Regards,

Sahil

Any chance we can see a screenshot of this happening with the two separate windows (after the command)?

Did you try using Window > Arrange > Consolidate All to Tabs before attempting 2-up Vertical? (I'm guessing yes but I wanted to be sure.)
