Lost function to copy from PS and paste outside of PS

My current workflow in documentation involves creating images in PS, copying them and pasting into an online document application. This has been working reliably for weeks / months in the past. Today the function seems to be impaired. Windows Snipping function still works so the problem must be photoshop. Does photoshop have a cache I need to empty out?
