Magic Wand CS6 will not select center of objects, highlights outside of object or word.
HELP... I have been using Photoshop for 20 years and never had an issue with my magic wand. A few days ago while trying to remove the background from a screenshot to create a png it started doing this. I can select and remove the large background but when i go to select the center of words or areas within an object it highlights the entire outside of that particular object. I am uploading a screenshot as an example. I am a professional photographer and digital scrapbook and Cricut design maker so I NEED this badly.
I have read all the threads on here and tried everything it said. I selected the button below the two colors, no help. I selected the wand in the upper tool bar and reset, no help. I have open and closed the program and even pulled the image over onto a transparent background that i created and no help.
PLEASE HELP ME.... this is slowing my work down. It seems if i shut my computer down and then reopen the program it works but only the first time i select something. I can hold the shift key down and select 15 and it will work but as soon as i try the second time it does not. When you are working with tiny centers of letters there are sometimes tons of things to remove.
Thank you in advance.
See what it did when i tried to select the inside of the "f". It does the same thing on each letter. This word in welded together in design space so it selected the entire path of the letter. If i select the "R" in RUN which is not welded it will just select that one letter on the outside like this. 8o(
