Making a gif transparent

Hey, so I have been recently trying to make gifs transparent, by removing the background and exporting it and saving it for web legacy. On the preview, it all looks good until I actually export it, like the previous layers don't dissapear and they just stay there. Is there a way to fix that?

Place each image on a transparent canvas (denoted by a checkerboard pattern).

Turn off layer visibility (eye icon) of unwanted layers.

Yeah I tried this already, and it all works fine until I actually export it

What is your GIF's filesize in KB?

How many frames does it contain?

How many pixels (height x width)?

Try the solution from this thread for creating a PNG sequence first then creating the animated GIF from that:

Export a GIF with a transparent background
