Making selections is so slow in Photoshop 2025

Am I the only one?

Making selections with rectangle or oval select tool is so slow in Photoshop 2025. (26.1.0 release) Reposition with spacebar is quit impossible. Already reset my preferences but didn't help.

What is happening?
(No, it's not the specifications of my MacPro...)

You're not alone! Many users are reporting similar issues with the selection tools in Photoshop 2025 (26.1.0). It seems like a performance bug in this release. Resetting preferences usually helps, but since that didn’t work for you, it might be worth checking for updates or reverting to a previous version if possible. Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

What are your Perfomance related Photoshop Preferences settings?
