Question

Many questions from a new user

I have been using an "unofficial" version of photoshop cc however I've now realised that life will be simpler with membership and have just started a subscription.

Several problems:

1. Color management. Despite setting everything up, correctly I think, I am getting terrible colors ( grubby with greenish cast)  with my Epson SC p800 on a Macbook pro (2009) + el Capitan.

The Eizo monitor is calibrated and I'm using Hahnemuhle paper profiles. Printing using Photoshop mode is a disaster although when  using the Epson printing mode I get a reasonable print.  Needless to say I would prefer to use Photoshop.

2. When i go into fullscreen mode the image suddenly goes very red and on occasion the whole window seems reddish until I move it around or reastart the whole process.

Hi Barnabyh,

Color management. Despite setting everything up, correctly I think, I am getting terrible colors ( grubby with greenish cast)  with my Epson SC p800 on a Macbook pro (2009) + el Capitan.

Please refer the link Improve color prints from Photoshop  and follow the instructions to ensure that Printer is correctly color managed with Photoshop.

When i go into fullscreen mode the image suddenly goes very red and on occasion the whole window seems reddish until I move it around or reastart the whole process

Please make sure that your Graphics card drivers are up to date from manufacturer's website. If already updated post a screenshot o of the reddish window.

hi - thanks for your response. The "Improve color prints from Photoshop" is familiar to me. Before buying my current epson printer and attempting to use photoshop cc with mac el capitan, I was using an older photoshop version CS5 + osx Snow Leopard and Epson R2400. It took time to set it up but I got excellent prints without too much trouble. My current Macbook Graphics card should possibly be updated but as far as I know that's not possible. Is it impossible to work with Photoshop cc  using an Nvideo G force 9400M 256 MB card  ?

Photoshop requires at least 512 MB of Vram for many operations.

Please uncheck "Use graphics Processor" in Preferences>Performance and check if that helps.
