"Mark Face" Name Suggestions

I have made a number of keying errors when I have done a manual "Mark Face".  These were never actually assigned to a person- somehow I got out before it was actually assigned.  However, every time I start to key in the correct name, say "David", I get a long line of partial letters such as "D", "Da" etc. that are cluttering up the suggested name list.

I have not been able to figure out how I can delete these typos from the suggested names that come up when I try to manually assign the names.

Does anyone know how to do this?  Thanks for any help!
