Marquee tool (and others) have a mind of their own

Has anyone run into the attached? 

 

I've searched the community breifly but I've only found problems where only the marquee tool snaps to the left or right. This is different.

 

A simple restart of PS seems to fix it but that's pretty annoying. I can't pin-point the workflow that makes this happen but its happening frequently since the update. Would be great not to reinstall PS or reset preferences that I've customized. 

 

Same thing happens with the crop tool and frame tool as far as I've noticed.

    Hi

    There are a lot of issues with this release of Photoshop version 21.2, you could try disabling legacy compositing in preferences and restarting Photoshop to see if it helps

    Thanks @Ged Traynor.

     

    This was actually the first step I tried which did in fact solve an issue where blend modes/layer transparency/layer masks wouldn't update as I changed them (they would get stuck untill I toggled a layer underneath).

     

    If anyone has that issue and finds this thread, try the above for sure!

     

    Crazy how buggy this version is though.
