Masking white brush is not working properly

Hi, I'm using white brush or black to correct my mask. Black brush is full opacity bur white is half. I'm not changing brush mode or any other setting, only switching color. See screen shot. Please help.

Not sure what happened, it worked always without any issue.

I'm on MacOS BigSur, Adobe 2021

Hi, I would reset the brush tool, by a right-click on its icon in the option bar.

Did you hit D to reset the colors to the default ones?
