Question

Master link for all mockup PSD files

Hello - I create mockups and have hundreds in my library. I often need to position logos onto the products for presentations, via smart objects. I'm looking for a way to speed up my workflow. Is there a way for me to have a 'master link', where I change the logo on the master link for the relevant job each time and each of the PSDs will update when I open them up? I don't mind having click modify link upon opening up the PSD.

Many thanks in advance

You can place your logo using File > Place Linked or to convert embedded SM layers to linked SM layers. Another option is to have master template with logo (if that have sense) which you will duplicate and continue working with it. Another option is to record action which will place linked logo. You can also set Photoshop event to automatically run action when creating new / opening document using Script Events Manager https://www.designeasy.co/2018/06/how-to-automate-boring-tasks-using.html .

Which version of Photoshop are you using? From your description, it seems that linked smart object layers can do the job for you.

CC 2019. My question is how do I link all my mockup PSDs to one master link where I update the logo for each new project?

Thanks
