Measure tool. Help!

Question

I've recently was forced to go from CS-6 to this trainwreck. But using the measure tool is not the same. I want to be able to see what I'm measuring in aka. Metric or Inches. Simply opening a photo and selecting measure tool brings up nothing and it's about as intutive as a qunatum physics manual.

When you draw a line with the Ruler Tool, Photoshop shows the length and the angle in the Info panel. If you want to change units, go to the Info panel menu and choose Panel Options... to open the dialog box where you can change the Ruler Units (about halfway down) to whatever. You can keep that open and switch units, and Photoshop will update the measurement in the Info panel.
