Measurement bug or daft user?!

I have set up a new document in Photoshop. It's in mm, CMYK & 300dpi (it will be the background for an A6 postcard). The document size is 154mm x 111mm (A6, allowing for 3mm bleed all around - standard practice).

However! When I go to draw a rectangle that is the artwork size without bleed (148mm x 105mm), as I drag I get shown the size in mm, but the Properties Box is showing pixels! I checked out Preferences: Units & Rulers - set to mm! If I click on the page to put Rectangle Properties in directly, it's only offering pixels as a measurement.

I only want to draw a random box and type in the correct size (mm) in Properties!

What's the issue? I'm an experienced Psd user of some 20+y but this is eluding me!

Thanks

Did you right click on the entry boxes to change the units?

    Hi Try the following:

Click View >Show Rulers and right click on the ruler to set the units. The box you see when dragging the rectangle corner should match that.  If the ruler and drag box units do not match - try resetting preferences.

If you want to enter the units directly in the option bar boxes - right click on them and you see a choice of units - so you can change from pixels to mm

    Hi Dave

That was the first thing I tried.

    Rulers set to mm...

But the w: / h: set to pixels, as is the Properties Box info...
