Does anyone have any experience with a Dell monitor with specific reference to the S2721QS UHD 27", 4K?

Any general comments on Dell monitors would also be helpful.

Thank you,

That Dell model was reviewed at Rtings if you want to see how well it performs:

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s2721qs

The review describes it using words like “budget,” “OK,” and “may vary between units” when talking ahout color accuracy and uniformity, and with black levels that look gray. And Dell advertises it as “lifestyle-inspired,” which sort of implies “general home use” and not serious photo editing. So this looks like a case where you get what you pay for: It’s only OK, so if you want great color performance you want to move up to a display with more professional color performance. If you did buy this Dell, based on the review your next move would be to buy a good display calibration device and create a custom display profile for your specific unit.

I think I’ve read that Dell has been developing some well-regarded displays at the higher price levels, but I haven’t looked closely at those.

Dell's business model has always been to pump up paper specifications at the lowest possible price. To do that, they cut corners anywhere that doesn't show up in the spec sheet.

This is an old screenshot that I found on the Dell support forum some years ago, and the reason I went there was that I got one of these turkeys myself. They refused to replace it, as it was "within specification":

Not saying they're all like that, but I am saying be careful.

Since then, I've stuck with Eizos.
