Move tool auto-selects wrong layer

Windows 10 Pro, Photoshop 22.5.3

When using the Move tool with auto-select checked and layer selected, will select the wrong layer.

This is As Designed as I know it. The sharpening layer despite being hidden by the blend mode is still picked up by autoselect because there are pixels under the pointer. Best way to exclude 'effect' layers like this is to lock them.

I thought it might be, and yes locking those layers looks like the workaround. I may change my actions to add that step.

I didn't save it but I think its because of the linear light (sharpening) layer, I usually move type layers around but had to move some image layers and this got me. I'll take another look tomorrow and post a test PSD.
