Question

MPO file issue

MPO files are two layer jpeg's used in 3D photography. These two layers represent the left and right view of the 3D image. I regularly open MPO's in Photoshop for editing.

There was a time when Photoshop would open them directly as a two layer file (in early versions of Photoshop 13 [beta]). Now Photoshop first attempts to do an unnecessary and bad anaglyph (red/blue) conversion, then you need to click "Edit Source" in the Properties panel to see the underlying "stereo pair". Again, this "3D" conversion is not necessary, and the resulting anaglyph is useless.

Is there a way to open MPO files in Photoshop so that they open directly as the two layer file?

If not, can this be fixed?

This does not need to be considered a 3D process in Photoshop as it currently is.

Can we just open these files directly?

Hello, Adobe?  About MPO files...

Can we please open 3D MPO files in Photoshop so that they open directly as a two layer file?
