I'm also having the same issue. The computer suddenly shuts off and reboots. It happens consistently with the object selection or magic wand tool in 2022. 2023 will cause restarts even without the use of those tools.

I'm using windows 10. I have tested the memory and it showed no issues. This only started happening recently. I downgraded photoshop from 2023 to 2022 to make it usable, but I can't use those aforementioned selection tools.

Applications can crash or freeze, but not cause the whole system to reboot. That is either a driver (usually GPU) or failing hardware.

Photoshop makes calls to some advanced GPU functions that other applications may not, and newer versions place more and more demands on the GPU. So Photoshop may trigger these reboots, but it cannot cause them.

First of all try to disable the GPU in Photoshop preferences. If that stops the restarts, update your GPU driver.

Note that dual GPUs with conflicting drivers is a common problem. If you have that, you'll need to disable the integrated GPU completely.

You may have a RAM problem.   Unexpected reboots are sometime related to memory failures.  Download a RAM stress test and run it for a few hours. Make sure your RAM is working well.   Mysef I use ECC RAM so single bit errors will be corrected and other RAM erors will be cought.

This seems like a problem with your computer's memory to me. As JJMack has mentioned, reboot cannot be caused by any application, it is related to a hardware failure.

It would be helpful to see your system info. Please copy the report from Photoshop Help>>System info menu and paste it here.

    Hi moustafah41459034,

Sorry that your computer is restarting while using select subject in select and mask tool.

Could you please let us know the version of Photoshop you are using?

Also, does Photoshop crashes following your a computer restart? It will be helpful to see if there is a crash report logged in the Windows event viewer. Please refer this article to find out how you can locate the crash report. Photoshop Elements Editor Help | How to Find Crash Logs on Windows

If Photoshop allows you to submit the crash report, please refer Submit a crash report for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom

    Thanks,
