Question

My Photoshop cc 2019 is doing strange things

Is anyone else having similar problems?

Since being updated, whenever I press the Control key, used for zooming and actions, Photoshop appears to be unstructured. The zoom goes in and out and generally ends up at 600%. Similarly, with the Shift key, strange things happen

I have a brand new, expensive laptop, so I assume this is working correctly

Please help me because I'm going out of my mind

I finally got v20.0.4 working properly with very little lag (on Windows 10). Steps were...

Make a backup, or create a Restore point of your drive.

In Photoshop, check the "Reset preferences on quit" box - then quit.

In Control Panel, delete all versions of Photoshop on my system (including settings).

Using CCleaner, run Cleaner, then run the registry cleaner (remember to backup or create a restore point first).

    Reboot your system.

Open Adobe Creative Cloud and install latest Photoshop CC 2019.

The above worked for me (until Adobe breaks it again). Your mileage may vary. Now I need to find out how to disable the new Home Page.

For the time being, install CC 2018 v 19.1.8 (no need to uninstall CC 2019) and see if that works.

You do this in your CC Desktop app.

Along with Ged's suggestion, make sure your keys are not sticking. Apple has released information that their "butterfly" laptop keyboards are having some issues.

The laptop is a DELL, Joseph, and only two weeks old, so keys should not be sticking yet

    Hi

When Photoshop starts to do strange things the first port of call is to reset Photoshop preferences

You may want to backup your settings first

    Migrate presets, actions, and settings

Also check to make sure you have the latest GPU driver installed from the manufacturers website, either Intel, AMD or Nvidia

Thanks Ged, I will try that and let you know

I don't know much about the way a computer works but the driver should be up to date as I've only had the laptop for two weeks - my wife bought it on the advice of her son who knows a lot
