Question

My Photoshop will not overwrite previous files

I want to overwrite different files but the do not despite the warning and me accepting. Photoshop keeps insisting in doing a new file with "copy" in the name.

Thanks,

D.

    Hi there,

Sorry that you cannot overwrite files in Photoshop as expected as it saves the file with a "copy" name instead simply overwriting it.

Which version of Photoshop are you using? This issue was fixed in 20.0.7 update of Photoshop. See https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-and-macos-catalina.html#FilenamingoptionsdontworkcorrectlyintheSaveAsdialog

If you are using similar issue and using an older version of Photoshop, please update to the latest version using the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Let us know if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Akash
