Need Help with Photoshop CC - Curves adjustment layer and eyedropper tool changes

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me to figure out how to get the results in the tutorial below using a curves adjustment and the eyedropper tool. When I click the eyedropper tool and select the skin tones I want to sample and change, its just makes the image go extremely dark.

Also, when I click the eyedropper tool, the color picker dialog box does not pop up.

    Hi,

I actually used this tutorial myself a few years back before I learnt the technique.

There are a few vital points that cannot be missed, otherwise the tutorial won't work.

When you create the Curves Adjustment Layer be sure to select the Curves symbol and not the mask:

Like c.pfaffenbichler said double click the Eye Dropper Icon. First select the lighter tone you want to replace the dark areas with and say no to the pop up message.

Then you can just paint in the selected lighter areas to remove the bags.

    I hope this helps,

    Sim

Please post screenshots including the pertinent Panels and dialogs.

Also, when I click the eyedropper tool, the color picker dialog box does not pop up.

The person said to double-click the black point sampler, not click it, did they not?
