Need help with Photoshop cs5 update.Get error about serial #upgrade. Serial #is good.

Get error message when trying to update the photo shop cs5. The update loads in but it will not install. I called customer support number but they do not help with products that have serial numbers. The photo shop cs5 number is good. The product will just not update.  I have installed and reinstalled many times and that is not the problem it is with adobe they have some kind of bug in there system where the update will not take. I get the following error messagesSOem updates failed to install/ Serial number upgrade/ This serial number is not for a qualifying product please try another.

    I read suggestions. But I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that I have 2 photo shop CS5 license codes that is installed on 4 computers and I have photo shop elements on 2 other computers and I have LIghtroom installed on 2 other computers and I think that adobe when it contacts them after update it does not know what to do with the id and the different license codes. This has been an ongoing issue for about 5 years and they never can help resolve the issue. And now I am having to post to the world all the problems I am having with there lousy products and get "online" support when I have spent over a thousand of dollars on there products. Ps I worked in tech support for over 10 years and I know how to use computers and all the work around ideas you gave me are going to be very time consuming and I have a feeling it is going to be just a huge waste of my time because it will eventually need to be fixed on there end.

    And no it was not an upgrade from cs4 to cs5. I bought the physical box with the user codes on the cd and installed the product from the CD for all the products I purchased the cs5 and lightroom.

    You have the latest version of Adobe application manager?

    Was your version of CS 5 a upgrade from CS 4?
