Need some help

I was making an overlay for Lol, and i struggle to find the shortcut for making a square to then click delete, when i do this its supposed to deleted that square on the other layers. But now it dosent seem to work becuase the Toturial has an older version. How can i Do this?

If you have selection you can delete content inside selection only on selected layer not on all layers beneath. That is one of requirements to use selection to delete and there isn't difference in older or newer versions.
