Neural Filter Style Transfer image size limitation?

Hi I am using Photoshop 24.0.1 on a mac with OS 12.6.2 (monterey) Neural filters style transfer works well with small images, but with large images I get the error message: "we've temporarity disabled this feature because of an errror" My question is what is the maximum image size for the neural filter? I am working on a theatrical backing that is 70 feet long by 14 feet high at 72 dpi. The file size is 8 GB. I want to use the Seurat style filter. It works  perfectly with very small test images, but chokes on the big image. i have flattened the backing to a single later and compressed to a jpg that is 21 MB, and the filter still won't work. What is the official size limitation? thanks.

Hi @dawnm2665950 it's a good question on the file size limit for neural filters. I can't find any documentation on it so far but an Adobe employee may come by and give some guidance. Your file at 8GB might be too big, but it should work compressed to 21MB without any hitches. A few days ago, I ran the Style Transfer filter as a test with a 67.2MB file and recorded it to see how fast it would process. It ran through all the options fairly quickly but I didn't change any adjustment sliders. (Windows 10 Pro, Photoshop 24.1 Release)

If updating to the latest version as @Myra Ferguson suggests doesn't work, you could try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart Photoshop and try again
  • Download the filter models again
  • Quit Photoshop, delete or rename the following folder, Start Photoshop and try again:
  • Mac:
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP/PluginsStorage/PHSP/22/Internal/com.adobe.nfp.gallery/PluginData
  • Windows: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\UXP\PluginsStorage\PHSP\22\Internal\com.adobe.nfp.gallery\PluginData

Let us know how it goes!

You might try updating to 24.1. I saw a similar but older thread where updating (although it was to a previous version) helped.
