New camera help [Unable to open Canon 5D Mark IV Raw files in CS6]

Hi I am trying to download images from my new Canon 5d Mark iv only to say that I need verion 9.7 or higher.  I have just added the plugin for my cs6 extended but can only get 9.1   I have tried to download the 10 and 11 plugins but even when I install them its still staying at 9.1

I'm fairly new to this so trying to wrap my head around it all.

Any ideas on what I need to do to view my images shot please !!!

Thanks Kristen

    Hi Brodie,

Chuck’s reply is one answer; a second option is to subscribe to the Photography plan for $9.99 per month, based on an annual subscription.

    Cameras supported by Camera Raw

Your camera was first supported in Camera Raw 9.7.

CS6 cannot be updated to later than Camera Raw 9.1.1 so you cannot open your Raw files in CS6.

That leaves you with a couple of options:

    1. Join the Cloud, get the latest version of Photoshop CC 2019 and the current version of Camera Raw (currently 11.1). You will then be able to open your Raw files, or
    2. Free option if you want to stay with CS6 and not join the Cloud: using the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all your Raw files to DNG format. Then open the DNG files (not the Raw files) in your existing CS6. An extra step for you but no extra cost.

You need to download the dng converter, since you can't use the right ACR version for that camera.

Im still confused sorry.  So I've downloaded that and then when I go  to select  the images to convert it says "no items match  my search"  they are in the file when I go back to it  but when doing it through this system nothing shows up ?
