New Photoshop frezzing

Question

After recently updating Photoshop, it is now crashing/freezing whenever I try to crop an image. Moreover when I chnage one of the crop presets. Anyone else experienced this since updating to v22.3.0

There have been threads on this (or at least similar issues), please do a Forum seatch.

What have you done for all-purpose trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Worst case it might be necessary to roll back the Photoshop version – but make sure to back-up your presets first.
