Newly Purchased Actions won't work

I have Photoshop CC 2019 and am having a problem with some actions I have just purchased. When I click on the play button I get the message ....The command "select" is not currently available. There is then an option to stop or continue. I have tried to continue but get another message to say a word is not currently available.

The actions are supposed to be updated for Photoshop CC 2019 so I'm not understanding what is happening when I try and run them. I have purchased other actions and they seem to work okay.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Margaret

Action steps are independent but there is always some requirement for each step to be executed. Action can not select something, perhaps layer because it is probably missing. Do you have instructions to name your layer with some particular name or some other instructions regarding layer names, order, cound etc...

Hi
If you get stuck again with an action set that appears not to work, if you go to the menu at the top right of the actions panel, choose "playback options" and then set it to "Step by Step" you can step through the action and see exactly where it is going awry. That often helps in identifying a problem with the action or the way it is being run.

Thanks Dave. All good now but that's a good tip for the future. Cheers

Thank you so much you have helped me a lot. I wasn't renaming the layer as instructed to do so and now I have read the confusing instructions properly the action now works. Thank you so much Bojan

Your best and first bet would be to contact the creator or seller of those actions. They can confirm the compatibility and guess if you are doing something wrong. mainly those that use or have learned about those items can guide you on that.

Which Action we are talking at?
Have you read the instructions? In some cases you have to prepare your image (minimum size, create special named layer,...)

Hi Tom... yes I have read the instructions and all is okay there. I have purchased some watercolour actions from Envato Markets so I may have to get back to them if there is not an easy answer here. Thanks for your time.
