Nikon Z 7 II RAW Files not opening in CS6

I have recently bought a Nikon Z 7 II but I cannot download a Raw file to my CS6. I have Windows 10 with all updates applied. I can download the NEF file onto my Pictures on my PC but when trying to open in Photoshop  It says Cannot open this file. I transferred file from camera to PC via usb cable.

I notice in Cameras supported by Camera Raw

Latest cameras added in August 2021

For my camera under "Camera matching profile available" it says NO.

Does this simply mean I cannot downlaod a RAW file from the Nikon Z 7II until Adobe update Camera matching profile. If so how far into the future will thia be.

Thanks

Peter

CS6 is to old to handle RAW files of  the Nikon Z7. Adobe has stopped supporting C6. This means that there are no more updates available.

The only chance to work with the appropriate RAW files you can do, is to convert it into DNG. You can use the tool from Nikon or the Adobe Digital Negative Converter

Here you can check which version you need to support the appropriate camera

New camera RAW files won't work with old software and as the software is no more maintained, you have only two options: Converting your RAW files to DNG as indicated by @AxelMatt or to invest in the Photography Plan (Photoshop and Lightroom Classic) for around $10/mo as suggested by @Test Screen Name.

Nb.: With brand-new cameras, you may even need to wait a small amount of time before Photoshop/Lightroom get supporting them. In such a case, also the DNG converter does not help, as all three programs use the same engine to read the raw files.

Your budget needs to include up to date software if you want to use up to date hardware. Photoshop from $10/month now.
