Non-destructive gradient tool creates unwanted results when exported to JPGs

I have been using the new gradient tool that is non-destructive in Photoshop and have been experiencing strong banding when exporting out to a JPG.

I have attached 2 results that show the variance when using the new versus the classic gradient. As you will notice there is banding that is occurring on the JPG that uses the new gradient tool, but when I switch it to the classic mode, it exports nicely without any banding.

Hello @phlpsdvd , I apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Could you please let me know what version of Ps you are using and on what operating system?

Can you provide more details about the document? Is it a new document created or an older document created with earlier versions of Ps? what is the color profile on the document?

If possible, please email me a copy of the document to clrodrig@adobe.com

Thank you

Hello @ClaudiaR99 -- It appears to be working once I have created a new document. I am assuming the old file would have to be trashed and I would need to work inside a new document before I could see the Gradient Tool output improve?

I am currently using PS 24.7, iOS Ventura 13.4.1, RGB file with 9 artboards.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
