Non printable colors different between different versions of Photoshop

Hi there,

in numerous occasions I noticed my students working in Photoshop 23 (or 22 maybe) don't have the same non printable colors than me in Photoshop 24.

I have to say we have the same Prepress for Europe 3 ICC profile activated in Photoshop.

Do you have noticed it? I'll try to reproduce this with both versions of Photoshop on a same computer later on.

    To be clear - you mean actual numbers, not how the colors look on screen?

     

    Non-printable colors are determined by the specific CMYK profile; not Photoshop. It can be out of gamut in, say, US Web Coated (SWOP), but within gamut in, say, ISO Coated (eci) 300%.

     

    Note that embedded color profiles in the file will always override your working space. You need to look at the file, not Color Settings. With two exceptions: One, the file is untagged, or two, the file is in a different color mode and you're reading out corresponding recalculated values. In both these cases the working space takes over.

     

    In short, double check that the CMYK profiles are really the same.
