Question

non-working CTRL+SHIFT+F (FADE) command!!!!!

When we issue a command from the action panel, the fade command (CTRL+SHIFT+F) doesn't work. The action panel is terrible. It slows things down incredibly. I had to revert to the previous version.

Can you confirm what version of Photoshop you are referring to?  There was an update to the Actions panel with 27.6 released today, so it is quite possible that it has issues.

When you record the action, do you select Fade from the Edit menu, or use the shortcut? I’ve always thought it safer to use the application menus.

Fade needs something to work on, and you’ll know that Fade must be used immediately or it will be greyed out.  Could that be what is going on?  The Action stalls because Fade is greyed out?

Is this the only way the updated actions panel is slowing your workflow?  The more information you give, the better you will be understood.

Colin Smith described the changes to the Actions panel in this video today.

Hey, @eraydigital. Please follow this advice, and if this still does not help, record a video of your entire workflow and share it here.

    Thanks!

Hi, I’m currently experiencing an issue with the Fade tool (Ctrl+Shift+F). When using actions from the Actions panel created in earlier versions, everything works normally. However, after updating to version 27.6, Fade becomes disabled once an action finishes. Meanwhile, newer actions still allow Fade to be used. What I need is to be able to use Fade immediately after finishing an action in the Actions panel.…after that, I had to downgrade to version 27.5, and Fade worked normally again with the saved actions. However, in version 27.6, it no longer works; Fade can only be used immediately after performing a command—for example, right after applying Hue/Saturation, Fade is available.

Good to know: You can switch back to the old Actions panel even in the newest 27.6 release.
