I’ve given up on Adobe….will use other exiting tool…After several thousands of dollars, it would have been nice to have kept the service. My life is too short for the frustration. thanks for your help, Jim

Presumably you want to subscribe to Photoshop CC2018 – you do so by logging in to your Adobe account and downloading the application via the Adobe Creative Cloud application and use the program in the normal way. Adobe checks periodically online, possibly once a month, to check that you're up-to-date with your payments. There are various ways to subscribe, probably the Photographers plan is the best value, you get Photoshop and Lightroom for around $10 a month.

NO, I’m not interested in newer photoshop. I had used CS4 (originally bought CS-both versions) but had not used this iMac for months and found CS4 and CS3 not working, need ing new java and passwords. I’ll probably give up on Adobe. thanks
