    Before this happen PS works well? If so:

    Window > Workspace > Reset Workspace - that SHOULD reset all Your UI modyfications, and bring back fresh Photoshop

    Not sure what the question is.

    What happens when you select: File > Open and then navigate to say a JPG image on your computer, select it and then click Open?
