Object Selection Tool suddenly makes System OS act funky
Hi,
I'm experiencing a recurring bug running Photoshop v24.7 on my MacBook Pro 2021 M1 Max, OS v13.5.
I'm pretty sure it's happening more or less as soon as I use the Object Selection Tool, especially in "Add to selection" mode. I can't remember correctly if that's the only instance this is happening because when this started happening I suspected the OS rather than Photoshop having a bug so I had it hard to pin it down.
What it does is:
1. Keyboard Inputs are completely substituted with special characters, e.g. "√", "ⓒ", "(" and similar, not only in the Photoshop App but in the OS itself, wherever there is a text box in any app. Seems to change the system Input Source in some kind of way, though the OS doesn't display it when I check in the settings.
I've also reached out to Apple already and did a couple of tests with remote screen view, but they didn't know of a reason why it's happening.
This stays as long as I don't log out. So I don't even have to restart the Laptop to make it stop.
2. A minor cause of this: Inside of the Photoshop app, when I change tools, by clicking their icon on the toolbar, it automatically jumps to the next tool inside of the tool family, e.g. I click "rectangle selection" jumps to "ellipse selection" or I click "brush" jumps to "pencil" and so on.
I hope this will be patched in a upcoming version, I tried to find people online with similar problems but I haven't found anyone yet.
Thanks
-Chris
